The Chinese dress pattern is now available here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/jenwrenne
I’ve made a few (unaltered) things from the Butterick patterns mentioned in a previous post (scroll down to see). As I expected they are a little big, you can see how different the fit is of the same dress on Sasha, a vintage Honey Walker, Kidz n Cats and a Journey girl on my flickr page here : http://www.flickr.com/photos/67465307@N08/
And I am hard at work on a 40’s era pattern as well as some from the 30’s that you will love.
Are you a pattern sleuth? These girls are modeling the muslins for some upcoming creations. Hard to believe it now, but I promise the dresses will look cute when made in nicer fabric! Three are based on vintage patterns and one is from a paper doll. They were originally designed for two different dolls: guess which ones and win the pattern for this Asian-style dress sized for Sasha/KnC and Hearts for Hearts!
To enter, just post me a comment with your guess – contest closes when the patterns come out, which should be at the beginning of March. Hints: both dolls came in several different sizes and were originally composition but later re-made in different materials. The original colors of the dresses on the pattern envelopes were (R-L) blue, yellow, yellow, pink. If you can’t guess, you can also get that pattern FREE with purchase of any other pattern, just put “Hinamatsuri” in the “notes to seller” box on etsy and it will be included in your order.
